In 2015, I felt the need to get involved.

Since then, I've had the opportunity to volunteer and work for political campaigns, government offices, and other organizations in an effort to make our country a better place for everyone. Below you'll find some of the things I've accomplished.

The Banished! Ride, Organizer
In 1988, a member of the Utah Legislature proposed banishing Utah's AIDS patients to Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake. To commemorate this dark period of Utah's LGBTQ+ history, we organize the annual Banished! Ride to Antelope Island, the site of the queer colony that never was.

The Utah Civics Project, Founder
In 2016, only 23% of millennials voted in the presidential election. In 2018, 42% of millennials voted in the 2018 midterm elections. We believe this upward swing is just the beginning, not the peak, of the upcoming generation’s political power. But for that to be true, our children must be engaged, informed, and ready to vote each election cycle. The Utah Civics Project is dedicated to producing knowledgeable and engaged citizens who build up their communities.

Also assisted in the organization's events by organizing registration and reception.

Throughout 2019 and 2020, I created a one-stop-shop platform for civic engagement specifically geared toward Millennials and Gen Z. We know those generations don't vote as much as others, so I wanted to do what I could to remove as many barriers as possible to voting registration and learning about the candidates and issues.

Our social media brought over 2,000 young people throughout the primary and general election seasons to the site, helping them know what to expect on their ballot and get engaged in their communities.
